Hello. In the courts of every country in the world, what is the most severe punishment handed down to a heinous criminal? It is to extinguish his existence by execution. No matter how brutal the execution, the result is to kill him forever. But if Jehovah, the Creator revealed in the 66 books of the Bible, is to be tortured and burned day and night in an eternal lake of sulfur for not believing in him and not living by his word, not for a billion years, but for all eternity, isn't the Christian God more cruel than Hitler, who killed six million people? Christianity copied the eternal hells of the world's religions: the afterlife of Egyptian Hellenistic philosophy was immortality of the soul, and medieval Catholicism created an eternal lake of sulfur based on this philosophical content. Religious people are good at inventing doctrines that aren't in the Bible. Protestants, a branch of Catholicism, are constantly chanting "Hell for unbelievers in Jesus" in the streets. I think Korean Protestantism and the Korean American churches around the world are the worst offenders. As a Korean, I feel very ashamed. So what do the Old and New Testaments say? First, when a person dies, he sleeps in the grave and is buried unconscious, waiting for the resurrection of the righteous and the wicked at the end of the world. The righteous and the wicked are determined by the Creator, Jesus. Second, the righteous in Jesus are those who have resurrection life when they are alive, but they also die and pass through the judgment seat of Christ with the resurrected righteous into eternal life. The wicked outside of Jesus are also resurrected at the end to receive the punishment for their sins, including the living in the Great White Throne Judgment, the hellfire of the whole earth that will judge Satan. In the Bible, there is eternal life and eternal punishment, eternal life is to live forever, and eternal punishment is to die forever. Death is to go back to nothing.
