Hello! Churches in countries that have abolished tithing follow the Bible. All of the world's Catholics and even modern-day Judaism in Israel do not. Even the Jehovah's Witnesses, who have long held on to tithing, have abolished it in modern times. Here's denomination that has held on to it to the end. Despite this global trend away from tithing...the arguments against tithing.. that it's voluntary, not legalistic, that it's a peripheral issue that has nothing to do with the truth of the gospel, that it doesn't matter if you tithe or not because the core is the gospel, that it creates another form of legalism.. all sorts of watered down and deceptive logic.. still, here are denominations where the specter of tithing hangs heavy over them. Korean Protestant denominations, both domestic and foreign! I'm so embarrassed to be Korean. Southern Baptists, Pentecostals, and a few other denominations in the U.S. Mormons and Seventh-day Adventists in the U.S.! Ahnsahnghong Witnesses! Shincheonji! Local churches! Christians who hear the gospel of truth in English should know this. The Old Testament form of sacrifice, tithing and other offerings, was completed by the cross of Jesus! In the New Testament church, each individual voluntarily and gratefully decides how much he or she wants to give as a contribution. Because Jesus Christ became the tithing ransom, if you pay tithing to the one God with money and give money to various purpose offerings, you are denying Jesus' ransom and committing the sin of unbelief.
